Company History
Our story began in 2004 with the purchase of a set of Kansas Jayhawks basketball tickets. As a Jayhawks fan, Dan Rouen, founder, and president of Tickets For Less®, bought the tickets hoping to see another great game at Allen Fieldhouse. When Dan found himself unable to attend the game, he took to eBay to recoup the cost of the KU tickets and, to his surprise, he made a profit from the resale of his tickets. As he began to understand the ticketing world and build a customer base, Tickets For Less was born.
In 2006, Tickets For Less opened its first retail location in Overland Park, Kan. As our business has grown and industry shifts have occurred (such as the introduction of mobile ticketing), we have become as much of a technology company as we have a ticketing company, selling millions of tickets across the country. We partner with venues, colleges, professional teams, and rights holders to procure inventory and make it available to our loyal customer base. Additionally, Tickets For Less has become a top 10 national wholesale ticketing company that is in the top 1% of secondary market sellers nationally.
In the latter part of 2020, we acquired Ticket Solutions, and announced we would operate our business-to-business operations under the Ticket Solutions brand in August of 2021. The acquisition of Ticket Solutions will expand market share in hospitality, fan travel, corporate ticketing, and premium experience segments. Pairing the extensive partnerships that Tickets For Less has acquired across the live sports and music industry with Ticket Solutions’ technology and automation will create synergies and incremental value for the company’s partners, clients, and customers.
We are proud to be a homegrown, Kansas City-based industry leader with more than 60 employees that provide high-quality service and experiences to our customers. With the Tickets For Less Headquarters located in Kansas City, and additional offices in Omaha, Neb. and Tuscaloosa, Ala., we are focused on expanding our retail footprint in strategic markets nationwide.
